SOUTHBURY LEISURE PARK
CONSULTATION [DA1]
Royal London, the leasehold owner of Southbury Leisure Park, has partnered with NEAT Developments to reimagine the 7.3-acre site in Enfield, currently housing establishments like Cineworld, Pizza Hut, and others, along with a large surface car park.
Enfield's emerging Local Plan identifies this area as suitable for residential-led, mixed-use development to address the borough's acute housing needs, aiming to deliver 34,000 new homes over the next decade.
The proposed vision for Southbury Leisure Park includes:
• Providing new homes, including affordable housing, to meet local demand.
• Activating Southbury Road with new community and retail spaces, creating an attractive frontage.
• Improving pedestrian and cycle connectivity, enhancing access to Kingsmead School, the leisure centre, and Enfield Playing Fields.
• Delivering new green, sustainable spaces for public use, integrating with existing green areas.
• Enhancing the relationship with adjacent facilities by creating pedestrian-friendly links and green open spaces.
The development team is seeking community input to shape these proposals and ensure they align with local needs and aspirations.
Residents are encouraged to participate in the consultation process to help refine the plans for this significant redevelopment project.
